French Fort Cove Eco Centre About Us

The Eco Centre promotes ecological sustainability and empowers citizens to become stewards of the shared planet. Workshops, information seminars and special activities are offered here along with permanent and seasonal exhibits. Next door to the Eco-Centre is French Fort Cove Nature Park, a 500 acre parkland. The park is home to 200 hectares of Acadian Forest on the north shore of the Miramichi River, at the midpoint of the City of Miramichi.

The Eco-Centre is an exciting project full of promise for the Miramichi. Open year-round the landmark attraction’s interactive displays will showcase Miramichi’s history and culture. Visitors will learn about flora and fauna, heritage and historic events such as The Great Miramichi Fire of 1825.

Education and Environmental Awareness are important components in the Centre and we look forward to the involvement of the Education System in our building

The majority of our displays will be interactive, fun and informative. During the summer season we will have a large display space that could be used for traveling exhibits, a working space to build, a showcase of exhibiters, science fairs, etc.
